自重輕是輕型鋼結(jié)構(gòu)顯著的特點(diǎn)。輕型鋼結(jié)構(gòu)的承重構(gòu)件主要采用輕型焊接H型鋼、高頻焊接型鋼、輕型熱軋型鋼、冷彎薄壁型鋼等截面形式,這些型鋼截面比普通的工的情況下,輕型鋼結(jié)構(gòu)比普通鋼結(jié)構(gòu)節(jié)約鋼材30%以上。一般單層輕型鋼結(jié)構(gòu)廠房用鋼量為20~40kg/m2,采用冷彎薄壁型鋼的輕鋼屋架用鋼量為15kg/m2以下,輕型鋼結(jié)構(gòu)房屋的圍護(hù)結(jié)構(gòu)采用輕質(zhì)材料,圍護(hù)結(jié)構(gòu)和主體承重結(jié)構(gòu)自重均較輕,結(jié)構(gòu)基礎(chǔ)形式簡(jiǎn)單且費(fèi)用低。

輕型鋼結(jié)構(gòu)的鋼材具有材質(zhì)均勻、強(qiáng)度高、彈塑性性能好,承受動(dòng)載能力強(qiáng),可靠性高,構(gòu)件破壞前有較大的塑性變形。此外,輕型鋼結(jié)構(gòu)自重輕,結(jié)構(gòu)的地震作用顯著減小,結(jié)構(gòu)整體抗震性能強(qiáng)。對(duì)于單層或低層輕型鋼結(jié)構(gòu),地震作用通常不起控制作用。比如單層門式剛架結(jié)構(gòu),一般情況下可以不做抗震驗(yàn)算。

輕型鋼結(jié)構(gòu)的建筑構(gòu)造簡(jiǎn)單,所用材料為常規(guī)材料,主要構(gòu)件和配件均為工廠工業(yè)化制作,構(gòu)件加工精度高。構(gòu)件自重輕,運(yùn)輸安裝便利,無(wú)須大型機(jī)械設(shè)備,工地現(xiàn)場(chǎng)安裝方便。除基礎(chǔ)施工外,基本沒(méi)有濕作業(yè),構(gòu)件之間多采用螺栓連接,現(xiàn)場(chǎng)施工人員少,與同規(guī)模的鋼筋混凝土結(jié)構(gòu)相比,輕型鋼結(jié)構(gòu)施工工期可縮短1/3左右。
